New Math

Based upon my measurement from multiple doctors, I am due August 26th. So every other calendar in the world has me starting my 13th week on Thursday the 11th. However, Kaiser has me starting my 12th week on Thursday. So I pulled out a calendar and calculated it by hand. If I am due on August 26th, that means I would begin my 41st week on the 26th. That translates to starting my 13th week on Thursday. I am very confused.

  1. It's Erin. Congratulations, Bekah!!!!! I am so happy for you! Your parents will have two new grandchildren this year! I'll continue to pray for you. Try to enjoy every minute of your pregnancy and trust that God has your baby in His hands.

  2. It's Erin again. Register on babycenter.com and it will send you the week you are so you will know exactly how pregnant you are. There are so many websites that will track your pregnancy.

  3. That's what I mean! Every website is saying something different than my doctor.

  5. Put in the due date from your doctor into those websites and then it will be right. Always go with what the dr says. It's just a goal anyways.

  6. Apparently I'm not explaining it well. The same date is producing different weeks from the web and my doctor. No wonder the doctor doesn't understand what I am saying. . . I can't even explain it in a blog.

  7. Lol...
well, like the above poster said, keep the furthest date in mind & think of it as a goal... many 1st babies are "late" so if you think it's later to begin with, you may not start going crazy :)

  8. I believe that the sites are saying week 1 is the first day that you are pregnant and your doc is counting the end of the week as week one the same as begining week two. So your doc will say that at the end of week 12 you are 12 weeks but sites will say 13 because you are beginning you 13 week.

  9. Talked to the doctor yesterday. My due date, August 26th, begins week 40. Every other site ends your 40th week on your due date. Make sense . . . kinda. Whatever. We saw the baby yesterday; very active!

  10. Did you get a new ultrasound photo? You'll have to post it! Congrats! (the weeks/months get a bit confusing! Just keep Aug 26th as your finish-line!)
