In mid April Bubba was limping around so we took him to the vet. The doc thought it might be growing pains and gave us a pain medication with an anti-inflammatory. The medicine made him very sick so we only gave it to him once, and her stopped limping after 48 hours. Last week and limp was back and getting worse. He hardly ever put pressure on the foot. So we went back to the vet on Monday, and saw a different doc. He took some x-rays and thinks it may be osteochondrosis dissecans (OCD); cartilage damage or abnormal growth. Bubba may outgrow it. But if it gets worse or the medication doesn't seem to work, there is the option of surgery to remove the cartilage flap. He was so sad. Whenever the boys are separated they are a little mopey without their brother.

Bubba is doing a lot better now. A limp is rare and he is eating better. Thanks Dr. Mickelson!
Poor puppy. Is your OCD puppy also ADHD?
ReplyDeleteHe is easily distracted. Kevin will be playing with both of the boys when Bubba discovers his tail and decides he needs to catch it.
