Walks With Daddy

My mom came to stay with me for three weeks for Lily's birth. She was a great coach and an amazing wife; she cooked, cleaned, did laundry, and stocked my freezer. After she left, Kevin took another week off of work for "bonding". We mostly hung out at home just staring at our beautiful blessing. We ran a few errands, and took walks with the boys in the evening.

One morning we heading over to Fairmount Park. The park has undergone some major renovations the past few years and with its playgrounds, three lakes, ducks, geese, and lots of trees, it made for a great morning walk. I grabbed some waters and snacks and we headed out and walked around the lakes. It was a wonderful morning.

Lily does wonderfully in the stroller. Sometimes she sleeps, as pictured below, but often she just hangs out looking at the world.

On Saturday, Kevin went back to the park for a Daddy and Me day. Although Lily was too small to play she went along. Kevin went early for set up and I dropped her off around 10. Then I went out for coffee and came back to the house to make brownies for a friend. Even though I was only doing things I would normally do with Lily around, I moved much quicker and enjoyed my alone time. Kevin is a good Daddy and loves to show her off.

One Month

Lily has been with us for a month now. She is a great eater and is becoming a better sleeper. Last night she was only up twice - 2:00 and 5:00. This mama was super excited. She travels well often sleeping in her car seat. She hangs out in her swing and doesn't even flinch as I vacuum around her. We spend a lot of time in the kitchen in the bouncer often staring out the window. Lily has grown quite fast and is really long; she was only able to wear her newborn size clothes for two weeks. Unfortunately, the 3 month size clothing is really wide.

Mom was here for the first two weeks, and Kevin took off of work for one, so last week was our first week together finding our routine. Only to find, we can't find a routine. It's not bad, but we are still trying to find what works, and when I can get a nap. We also still have a lot of people coming in and out. It's not bad, I love having visitors, it just makes everyday different. But Lily is a great baby and really goes with the flow (she gets it from her daddy). We are enjoying each other.

We had our first check-up appointment on Monday and she was 10 pounds 2 ounces. Mommy was a little worried about the amount that Lily was spitting up but Doc assured us it was normal and because Lily was gaining weight she was fine.
Aunt Rachel bought Lily some stickers for us to document each month of Lily's growth. Below are two of my favorites.

Our new "trick" this month is the smile so I had to give you one of my favorites.

Football Sunday with Lily

As we do every fall, we headed over to the Iacono's for football Sunday. This year, there were three of us. Kevin took care of Lily most of the time, but she, of course, was cuddled by Steve's mom and Grandma.

Kevin, in fantasy style, had his phone and two computers up and ready. Lily just went with the flow.

She cuddled up with a proud Daddy for kickoff.
And hung out in the travel bed from Grandma for the rest of the afternoon.
